Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 17, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Toy Rotation App ("the App," "we," "our") collects, uses, and protects your information. Toy Rotation App helps parents photograph toys they have, identify them using AI, and generate balanced toy rotations with play story ideas.
We built Toy Rotation App with privacy as a priority. The App stores your data locally on your device. This policy describes the limited circumstances under which data leaves your device and how that data is handled.
2. Information We Collect
Data stored locally on your device
All the following data is created and stored entirely on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers for storage.
- Child age information - Birth month and year only required to build age-appropriate rotations
- Toy information - Names, categories, and photos of toys (saved locally on your device)
- Rotation history - Records of past toy rotations
- Play stories - AI-generated story ideas associated with rotations
- App settings - Your preferences such as rotation size, rotation frequency, and discovery level
Data sent to our server for AI processing
When you use AI-powered features (toy scanning, toy identification, rotation generation, or story generation), the App sends the minimum data needed for that feature to our API and then to third-party AI services. Depending on the feature, that data may include:
- Toy photos - Images sent for toy detection or identification
- Toy metadata - Toy names, categories, and related toy details sent for rotation or story generation
- Child age in months - Calculated from the birth information you entered so results can be age-appropriate
- AI request and response content - The prompts we generate for the feature and the model output returned to the App
These requests are made only when you actively use an AI-powered feature. We do not intentionally include your name, email address, or other direct contact details in AI requests.
We do not use your photos, prompts, or generated results to train our own AI models. We also try not to store submitted photos or prompts in our application database after processing is complete. However, limited technical logs and request metadata may be retained by us or our service providers for security, abuse prevention, billing, reliability, debugging, or legal compliance.
What we do NOT collect
- No precise location data
- No contacts or address book data
- The App does not track you across apps or websites
Intended for parents
Toy Rotation App is designed for use by parents and caregivers and is not directed to children. The App does not collect data directly from children. The only child-related information is the birth month and year, which is entered by the parent. Toy photos are photos of toys, not of children - please photograph toys only and avoid including people's faces in toy photos.
If you purchase an Early Adopter offer or otherwise enter into a purchase transaction with us, you must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information directly from a child, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at support@toyrotation.app.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes only:
- Toy identification - Processing toy photos through AI to detect and categorize toys
- Rotation generation - Creating balanced toy rotation schedules based on your toy collection and your child's age
- Story generation - Creating age-appropriate play story ideas for toy rotations
- Notifications - Sending reminders such as "Time to rotate toys!"
AI provider data practices
- Our AI requests are routed through OpenRouter and then processed by Google Gemini.
- We design AI requests to avoid sending direct contact details such as your name or email address alongside the toy photos and text content needed for the feature.
- Depending on the provider endpoint and the policies in effect at the time of the request, OpenRouter and/or Google may retain prompts, images, contextual information, outputs, or related logs for limited periods for abuse detection, safety monitoring, debugging, billing, reliability, or legal compliance.
- Based on Google's published Gemini API policies, data logged for abuse monitoring is used for policy enforcement and not to train or fine-tune AI or machine learning models.
- We do not control all provider-side retention or monitoring practices. If you want more detail, you should also review the current privacy and usage policies published by OpenRouter and Google.
Analytics and marketing measurement
We use the following third-party service providers to understand how the App is used and to measure how people discover it:
- AppsFlyer - measures which marketing channels drive App installs and activations. AppsFlyer privacy policy: https://www.appsflyer.com/legal/services-privacy-policy/
- Google Ads - measures the performance of our acquisition campaigns and conversion events. Google privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
These providers may process limited technical information about your device and app activity so we can evaluate the performance of our outreach and improve the App.
We do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt because we do not track you across apps or websites operated by other companies, and we do not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).
4. Data Storage and Security
Local storage
Data (toys, photos, rotations, stories, settings) is stored locally on your device.
Data in transit
When data is sent to our server for AI processing, it is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). We try to minimize server-side storage of submitted AI content, but limited technical logs, security logs, logs needed for compliance, and provider-side retention may still occur as described above.
Legal disclosures
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a government request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public.
Third-party services
This Privacy Policy applies to the Toy Rotation App and the services we operate. It does not apply to third-party services, websites, or apps that we link to or that process data on our behalf (including our AI providers, analytics providers, and attribution providers). We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those third parties directly.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Data deletion
You can delete your data by using:
- Delete feature in the app - Use the "Delete" feature in the App's Settings to remove all toys, photos, rotations, stories, and settings.
- Uninstall the App - Removing the App from your device deletes all locally stored data, including photos and files.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
